Clients and dogs
Import your clients
Updated 31 October 2026
If you keep your clients in a spreadsheet, or in another app such as Time To Pet, you can bring them into Pack in one go. You check every client before anything is saved, and nobody is contacted.
Import clients
- Go to Clients and press Import.
- Choose your file: a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file, up to 500 clients and 2 MB. From Time To Pet, choose its client export and its pet export together.
- Under Match your columns, check what each column is. Pack suggests a match for each one. Change any that are wrong, and choose Not imported for any you don't need.
- Press Check clients. Every client is shown with their dogs. Untick anyone you don't want, and fix any name, email or phone that's wrong.
- Press Add. The button says how many clients and dogs it will add.
What's brought across
- Each client's name, email, phone, address and notes. Notes stay private to you, as they do for any client.
- Their dogs, with breed, date of birth, sex, whether they're desexed, weight, allergies, conditions, vet, emergency contact, triggers and notes, where your file has them. See Dog details.
- Any other column can become one of your own fields, named after the column, so nothing you kept is left behind.
Past walks, invoices, balances owing and saved cards aren't imported. Card details can't be moved from another app, so clients enter a card when they first pay a Pack invoice.
Things Pack points out
- Already in Pack? A client with the same email or phone as one you have. They're unticked, and nothing already in Pack is changed.
- In your file twice? The same email or phone appears earlier in the file. Unticked.
- No name: type one, or leave them out.
- This email doesn't look right: the client is still added, so you can fix it later.
- A date of birth, sex or weight Pack can't read is left out, and says so.
- A dog Pack can't match to a client by email or name is listed at the end, to add to a client or leave out.
Nobody is contacted
Importing doesn't send any invitation or email. When you're ready, you can invite each client from their row, so they can see their walks and reports in Offleash.
How Pack suggests matches
Pack sends your column headings and the first three rows of your file to Anthropic, the AI provider Offleash uses, in the United States. The AI suggests what each column holds, and that's all it does: every value comes from your file, and you check every column and every client before anything is saved. If the AI isn't available, Pack matches columns from their headings instead, and you can match the rest yourself.
Your file
Your file is read on your device and isn't uploaded. Only the clients you add are saved. Pack keeps a record of the import, with the file's name and its column headings, so you can undo it. See the Pack Privacy Policy.
Undo an import
For 7 days, Clients shows Undo this import. It removes the clients the import added, with their dogs and addresses. A client stays if you've booked a walk, sent an invoice or an invitation, or changed anything about them or their dogs since, and Pack tells you which ones stayed.
