Import regular walks

If you're moving from another app, you can set up your clients' regular walks in one go. Time To Pet can't export a recurring schedule, but it can export a list of visits, and Pack can work out each client's pattern from it: every week on Monday and Thursday at 9:00 am, for example.

Before you start

  • Your clients need to be in Pack, with their dogs. Import your clients first if they aren't.
  • Your Rate Card needs at least one service, so each walk has a price.
  • Export at least four weeks of upcoming or recent visits. With fewer, Pack can't tell a weekly walk from a fortnightly one.

Import regular walks

  1. Go to Schedule and press Import regular walks.
  2. Choose your file: a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file.
  3. Under Match your columns, check which column holds each visit's client and when it starts. If your dates are written month first, as an American account writes them, tick Dates are written month first.
  4. Press Find regular walks. Each client's pattern is shown with the dogs it's for.
  5. Choose the Rate Card service for each one, untick any you don't want, and press Set up.

Your own spreadsheet works too: one row per client, with their days (such as "Mon, Thu"), the start time, and, if any are fortnightly, a column saying how often.

What Pack sets up

  • Each pattern becomes regular walks, starting from the Monday after you import, so nothing is booked before you've looked at your Schedule.
  • Walks are priced from your Rate Card, never from the file.
  • A walk at a time that clashes with another, or beyond your Max dogs per walk, isn't booked. It shows on your Schedule with the reason, as for any regular walk.
  • Nobody is contacted.

What isn't set up

  • A client who already has regular walks in Pack starts unticked, so you don't book them twice.
  • A client with no dogs on file can't be set up until you add one.
  • A name in your file with no client in Pack is listed, so you can add them and come back.
  • Visits with no weekly or fortnightly pattern are listed for you to book by hand. Pack never guesses.
