Regular walks
Updated 31 October 2026
A regular walk is a client's walk that repeats every week or fortnight on the days you choose. Pack keeps these walks booked four weeks ahead, adding the next day each night, so they show on your Schedule like any walk you booked by hand.
Set up regular walks
- Press New walk and choose the client, their dogs and the service.
- Under When, set Repeat to Every week or Every fortnight.
- Pick the days under On, the date it Starts and the Start time.
- If you know when they finish, set the Last walk. Leave it blank to keep them going until you end them.
- Press Schedule regular walks.
- Regular walks can start today at the earliest.
- Fortnightly walks fall in the week of the start date, then every second week.
- Any notes you add go on every one of these walks.
Prices
Each walk is priced from your Rate Card on the day it's booked, and keeps that price. If you change your Rate Card or a client's discount, Pack offers to rebook the regular walks already booked at the new prices. It's your choice: nothing is repriced unless you say so.
Change one walk, or the rest
Open a walk that's part of a regular booking:
- Edit this walk and Skip this walk change only that day.
- Change this and later walks changes the days, time, dogs or services from that day on.
- View all of the client's regular walks opens their regular walks page, where you can also Pause walks and End regular walks.
A walk you changed on its own is marked Changed on its own, and later changes to the regular walks leave it as you set it.
Pause a client's walks, or take time off
- Pause walks, on a client's regular walks page, is for their holiday or a break. Choose the First day off and Last day off.
- Time off, on your Schedule (Going away? Add time off), does the same for every client at once.
Either way, Pack won't book regular walks between those days and removes any already booked in them. Walks you booked by hand stay. Regular walks start again by themselves after the last day off.
Public holidays
A public holiday is booked like any other day, with your holiday surcharge if you have one. Your Schedule marks the walk Public holiday, and if you're not walking that day you can press Skip this walk right there. Set your state in Settings so Pack knows your public holidays.
End regular walks
On the client's regular walks page, press End regular walks and choose the date of the last walk. Any walks booked after it are removed, and Pack won't book more. Walks already done stay on the record.
Telling your client
When a change removes booked walks, or books them again, Pack can email your client the dates. The email goes out in your business name, any replies come to you, and it doesn't say why. Nothing is sent unless you press Send; press Don't send if you'd rather tell them yourself. A client with no email in Pack is listed so you know to let them know.
When Pack can't book a date
If something is in the way, such as another walk at that time, the date is listed under Couldn't book on the regular walks page and on your Schedule. Pack tries again every night. You can fix what's in the way, or book the walk by hand.
